Although Easter was very
early this year, the Village Association held it's ever popular Duck Race on
the Ritec river. A large crowd walked along the river bank cheering on their
ducks. Prize money went to the first 3 winning ducks, plus this year a new
race was held, which was a huge success. Children were invited to bring along
their own ducks or bath toy to race down the river, this was very exciting
because the children were able to follow their own toy to the finish line.
Other attractions on the day were hot dogs, Teddy Tombola stall and an Egg &
Spoon race.
A huge thank you to those who participated and especially for the helpers, who made this event such a success. "A fantastic" £613.50 was raised from the Duck Race, less expenditure, we are pleased to announce that the Village Association have rounded up the profit to £400.00 which will be given to the Community Council. The Community Council have very kindly donated the money to our "Improve our Village Park" funds. |
