1. Community Council - The Council’s insurance policy had been reviewed by Pembrokeshire County Council’s Risk Manager and was felt to be in order in terms of coverage and values.
The application for the transfer of the Public Entertainment Licence to the new Clerk was underway and the required Public Notice had been published.
Councillors’ Declaration of Interest forms had been ordered and a model scheme for Community Councils for the Freedom of Information Act 2000 would be discussed at the October meeting.
2. Village Hall
Following the survey carried out by Pembrokeshire County Council the unsafe skateboarding equipment had been removed from use and the application for a new skateboard area was under discussion with the Planning Dept.
Apart from some broken glass on the car park there had been no further problems with vandalism at the hall. The lights in the car park had been repaired and were now operational. Decoration of the Village Hall was reported to be nearing completion.
Positioning of the bonfire for November 5 celebrations was discussed and it was agreed that the organisers needed to mark the area out well in advance and make good after the event.
The deterioration of the surface of Fiddlers Lane approaching the driveway to the Village Hall was raised and a request would be made for the potholes to be filled.
3. Drainage
A reply was still awaited from Welsh Water regarding the timing of the full drains survey and would be chased. In the meantime a log would be kept detailing blockages and sewerage overflows in the village.
The source of foul water running into the Ritec by the village shop had been identified and the property owners notified.
A request for improvement to the drainage at the bottom of Castle Lane had been passed to the Network Management Section of Pembrokeshire County Council and would be followed up.
4. Village Issues
Members of St. Florence Village Association had agreed in August that they link their constitution to the Community Council and work with the Council for the benefit of the village.
A presentation had been made to Community Councillors and members of the Village Association by Pembrokeshire County Council’s Community Development Officer about his remit.
In response to a request from the Village Association it was agreed that outstanding work at the Old Mill would be completed once the bridge repairs had been carried out by Pembrokeshire County Council in October. A new information board would also be requested to replace the current fire-damaged board.
A complaint had been received about the overgrown path between the Old Mill and the Ford. The grass had since been cut and assistance would be sought to re-surface the path.
The apparent encroachment of a garden onto the river bank had been investigated and discussed with the owner.
A recent spate of fly-tipping in the lanes surrounding the village was reported to be in the hands of Pembrokeshire County Council and the Police.
The new bus shelter had been installed although a request had recently been received from the owners of the adjoining property for it to be re-located to the opposite side of Greenhayes Avenue. Further information was to be requested.

5.Traffic Issues
Concern was expressed at the speed of vehicles entering the village. The yellow traffic calmers at the entrance to the village had been covered over when the road was resurfaced and Pembrokeshire County Council were to be requested to reinstate them. The Police would also be asked to monitor traffic speed.
Improvement of the signage of the one-way system from the bottom of the village would be discussed with Pembrokeshire County Council as would a drain cover which was causing a trip hazard following re-surfacing of the pavement between Longstone and Court Vale.
Cars parking on the junction at Cross Street opposite the Flemish chimney were reported to be causing a hazard to traffic negotiating the bend. The assistance of the Police would be sought to resolve this problem.
