Village Hall

It was reported that Pembrokeshire County Council (P.C.C.) had approved the location of the new skateboard area and details were awaited.

A suggestion to create more storage space at the hall was discussed and it was agreed that the idea should be investigated further.

Arrangements were made for the erection of the Christmas decorations.

As P.C.C. were unable to help with the problem of moles on the sports field it was decided to enlist the help of an independent pest controller to eliminate them.

Drainage

Welsh Water had confirmed that having carried out a survey of the village they were now aware of the route taken by sewerage from Parklands and would use this information in the resolution of continuing problems at the Pantycelyn Pumping Station. Further details were to be sought on Welsh Water’s plans.

Following a request to P.C.C. to improve the drainage at the bottom of Castle Lane it had not been possible to determine ownership of the lane. P.C.C’s assistance had been requested to resolve this problem in the interests of road safety.

Village Issues

Reconstruction of the bridge by the Old Mill had been completed by P.C.C. and chippings delivered to complete the Community Pride Project. It was agreed that daffodil bulbs would be purchased and planted to enhance the whole area.

The Bonfire Night organised by the Youth Club had been a success and arrangements relating to the clearing of remaining fire debris and reinstatement of the ground were discussed.

It was reported that the Youth Club would not run until after Christmas due to a shortage of helpers and it was suggested that advice be sought from P.C.C. Youth Officer as to what support may be available.

A meeting had taken place with P.C.C. to discuss the re-siting of the bus shelter at Greenhayes Avenue. The community council had advised they had no objections provided the costs were borne by the owners of the property who had suggested the relocation as part of their potential development plans and that P.C.C. made good the pavements.

No response had been received from the developers of Parklands as to when the roads and drains would be put forward for adoption by the relevant authorities. It was agreed to enlist P.C.C.‘s help with this matter.

Investigations into the current situation regarding the Joint Unitary Development Plan for Pembrokeshire had been made and were reported back to the council. No further action was deemed necessary.

Planning

The Appeal regarding imposition of planning conditions on land at Carn Rock, Devonshire Drive, St. Florence was discussed. No additional comments were felt to be necessary.

Planning permission had been received for an extension to Hazeldene, St. Florence
