Following continuing
problems with sewerage overflow in the village, a letter of complaint is
to be written on behalf of Council and residents requesting a commitment
as to when work will be carried out to rectify the situation. Information
on the route of sewerage from Parklands will also be sought.
Concern was expressed over maintenance of sewerage pipes from properties
above the Village Hall and sports field. Assurances regarding a recent blockage
are to be obtained, and also information as to how the sale of individual
units at Ivy Tower Village will affect the situation.
The bus shelter at the entrance to Greenhayes Ave has now been removed.
It was agreed that in view of the high costs of re-siting that a new shelter
be erected on the existing site.
Investigation is continuing to find out which organization registered the
Jubilee Path.
All required documentation is now available for the Public Entertainment
Licence
A new clerk to the Council was appointed. Mrs Sue Hicks will take up her
duties with immediate effect.
The road drain outside Parsonage Farm Inn has now been cleared. A traffic
bollard in the same area has been demolished. PCC are to be informed.
Strimming of various areas of common land around the village is now being
carried out.
Planning Application Plot 4 Fiddlers Lane - New dwelling
Concern was expressed at the latest proposals for this plot. The building
of more than one dwelling on the plot is seen as over-development by the
Council and the application was therefore rejected.
An independent Internal Auditor was appointed to carry out the annual audit
of the Council's accounts
Vandalism is causing great problems at the Village Hall. The Headmaster
of St Florence School has been asked to talk to the children about vandalism
in the light of continuing problems.
Work is continuing on re-painting the Village Hall.
Agreement was given to the request by The Mike Evans Memorial Fund for a
small tree to be planted by Court Vale.
Blocked drains are still causing problems between Castle Lane and the village
shop. PCC are to be informed.
Work is in hand with road sweeping and weed control in the village.
